Mounting day!

Today its time to mount the rest of the puzzles we have completed and have not mounted yet!

All laid on a 4x8 sheet of foam board. From top left clockwise; Pencils (upside down because it fell off the first mounting and needs to be redone and its a bit sticky), Effervesently Yours, The Dreaming Tree, Venice, Donuts, Vegas, Maui Moon, Underwater Playground, Pansies and Puppies
Rizzi all boxed up and ready to be re-assembled

We laid each section upside down and the reassembled. The puzzle interlocks so well, you can just pick up the puzzle by the corner and turn it over as you need to.

Here we finally have Rizzi glued to the foam board and cut to size

After 1000 pieces or so, the weight of the puzzle is too much for the technique of using the string from two screws in dry wall anchors (they anchors pull out of the foam). So here we use the interlocking technique using drywall channel mount the channel so the flat part is facing down on the puzzle. Use a lot of drywall anchors (here we used 10) to spread the load.

Take the drywall corner and mount it to the wall where you want he puzzle with the flat end facing up and then bend it up to make the V as shown. The matching V on the back of the puzzle will sit in here and give you a rock solid mount!

Back of the puzzle showing the dry wall corner bent down and ready to hang!

M enjoying our new showpiece!

The puzzle wall! We are running out of space! We still need to paint a lot of edges, but finally have all the puzzles mounted!

Puzzle Threesome

Oh yeah! Puzzle Three-way! Now that is naughty!
Every man dreams of bringing a girl home to play with this wife. Well, tonight we did just that. Our friend Mary came over for a three way puzzle session. M worked on her doggie puzzle. Mary tackled the Sour Gummies and I took on the Lighthouse. I jammed through the lighthouse in about 4 hours (125 pieces an hour!) M finished her doggie puzzle and Mary, well she sure did look pretty.... :-)

Big daddy needed to feed his little girls so I made Baked Bacon Chicken (BBC... but not that BBC), rice and veggies. The chicken was so fucking good. God I love chicken!

Oh yeah, in other news, M and I started training for a marathon this December on our 1 year anniversary! We are on a 38 week training schedule and this should be interesting. Its time to shed some pounds and rack up so miles when we aren't puzzling!

BAAAAAACOOOOOON! CHICKEN. Boom!

M CANT FIND THE PIECE!

Fuck your pan! OMG this was good!

Goodwill has yet to let me down. It was touch in go for a minute. There is nothing I hate worse than  a missing puzzle piece! I was convinced a rock piece was missing. It turned out to be confused with an upside down sky piece! It sure was a lot of entertainment for $1.00 (total assembly time 4 hours)

M finally finished her boxer puppy puzzle. AWWWWWW. They are so cute!

New Puzzle Day!

Mercedes ordered two new puzzles that showed up today! A 500pc from Master Pieces called "Pansies and Puppies" and a 1000pc from Piatnik called "Cocktails". M really wants a boxer puppy, but we are going to settle for a puzzle of one for now. The cocktails puzzle is self explanatory!

We really like the Piatnik puzzles. We just finished the Pencil Collage earlier this week! The pieces feel very good in the hand, have a good size and a very satisfying click when placed! M likes to snap them hard!

This will be our first Master Pieces puzzle. We wil let you know how it goes! We bought both puzzles from www.simplepastimes.com  so far, perfect service!
